Register your domain through Shopify and we will set it up for you. Just confirm the charges and we will configure it to work with your Shopify store.

=== How much does it cost? ===

Well, each domain name has a different cost, for example registering a .ca domain costs a little more than registering a .com domain. If you use our domain registration interface you will be able to see the price before agreeing to pay it.

=== What if I need to change my domain contact information? (WHOIS lookups, etc.) ===

Shopify uses OpenSRS (Tucows) for domain registration and part of the integration with Shopify is that you will be provided with a web interface where you will be able to update all of your domain contact information. These details will be emailed to you upon registration of a domain.

=== What if I want to further customize my domain? (Add more CNAMES, etc.) ===

Shopify uses OpenSRS (Tucows) for domain registration and part of the integration with Shopify is that you will be provided with a web interface where you will be able to further configure your domain. These details will be emailed to you upon registration of a domain.

=== Can I transfer my domain to another registrar? ===

Yes. At any time you can unlock your domain through the web interface provided by OpenSRS. Once your domain is unlocked you are free to transfer it another registrar. Please note that we cannot provide assistance with transferring your domain to another registrar, each registrar is slightly different and can help you with this process.

=== Do I have to keep renewing my domain every year? ===

So long as you are a paying Shopify customer we will continue to renew your registered domains on your behalf. Charges will appear on your Shopify invoice. If you are no longer interested in paying for a particular domain you can turn off the renewal of that domain and it will disappear once it expires [screenshot].

=== What if I leave Shopify? What happens to my domain? ===

If you decide to leave Shopify we will stop renewing your domain for you and unlock it. At this point you are free to transfer it to another registrar. Upon canceling your store you will be sent an email containing all of this information.

=== What about email? ===

Your domain does not come with email support, however we reccomend using Google Apps Email. Its a free service from Google that allows you to easily set up email addresses for your domain. Head over to [http://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new Google Apps] to get started.
