Managing Orders
The Shopify iOS App allows you to manage your orders on the go, with the ability to close/reopen orders, receive payments, and update shipping and fulfillment information.
Closing an Open Order
1. Open the Main Menu by either swiping to the right or by tapping on the Menu button in the navigation bar.
2. Tap on “Orders” to open the Orders screen.
3. The little circular badges on the left side of your screen indicate the status of your orders. Blue = open, red = cancelled, none = closed. Tap on an open (blue) order that you wish to close to view the order details.
4. Next, tap on the “More Actions” button in the top right corner. This will open the order’s Action Sheet.
5. Now simply tap on “Close Order” to close the order. A banner will appear telling you exactly when the order was closed.
Opening a Closed Order
1. From the “Orders List” screen, find the closed order you want to reopen, and select it. Remember: closed orders have no circular badge on the left side.
2. Tap the “More Actions” button on the right side of the navigation bar to open the Action Sheet.
3. Tap on the “Reopen Order” button. Once the order is opened, the ‘closed’ banner will disappear.
Receiving Payments
1. Find the order you wish to accept payment for on the “Orders” screen. Note: it must be an order with a blue circular badge on the left side of the screen (unpaid). Tap your selected order.
2. Depending on the type of payment being used, you will see one of these two options:
- Cash payments: your screen will show the type of payment and the amount, along with a “Received” button in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Credit payments your screen will show an authorized payment amount and a “Capture” button.
3. Your next step will also depend on the type of payment being used.
- Cash payment: to accept a cash payment, simply tap on the “Received” button to mark the order as paid. It will update accordingly.
- Credit payment: to accept a credit payment, tap the “Capture” button. This opens the “Capture Payment” screen. Here you can enter the exact amount to capture from the customer, up to the maximum authorized amount. By default, the field already has the maximum amount entered for you. Tapping “Done” captures the payment and updates the order status.
Fulfilling Items
1. Find the order you wish to fulfill on the “Orders” list screen. Note: it must be an open, unfulfilled order with a blue badge. Tap on the selected order, and the order details will appear.
2. In the “Not Fulfilled” section at the top of your screen, tap on the “Fulfill Items” button. The app will open the “Fulfill Items” screen with a list of all unfulfilled items from the order.
3. Select the items you wish to fulfill. You may select any combination of items from the order.
4. Enter any tracking information you wish to include with the order in the space provided. Right below this space, you will see an on/off switch. If you select “on,” a notification email will be sent to the customer, letting them know their item(s) has shipped. The email will also include any tracking information you’ve provided.
5. Tap the “Done” button to fulfill the items. You will be returned to the Order screen with the fulfillment information updated accordingly.
